“No matter what mood I am in, there is an outfit to match and an accessory to accompany it.” This quote from my first STYLE GURU BIO continues to hold true—the only difference is now I’m a second-semester senior instead of a freshman. Throughout my college career my style remained fairly consistent: casual, comfortable and chic. Although I love playing with current trends like mixing prints and playing with textures, my accessories usually originate from my own personal style. A unique ring, statement bag or bracelets and bangles that trail up your forearm transform an outfit with ease. My go-to look (especially in the frigid tundra we call Syracuse) is an oversized sweater paired with leggings, boots and warm, winter accessories like chunky scarves and knit beanies.
While go-to looks for some students consist of bulky winter jackets and baggy sweats (no judgment, I promise), others brave Mother Nature with outfits that keep them both warm and stylish. These students continue to inspire me and demonstrate Syracuse’s diversity—one of the many reasons I love fashion. No matter what your interests, personality type or plans for the day, fashion integrates itself with ease. Whether I’m lifting at the gym, going out with friends, attending an interview or just hanging out on my couch with my roommates, I hold true to my style.
Graduating in May with a B.S. in Magazine Journalism and minors in Nutrition and Sociology, I look forward to embracing the fashion scene wherever my career takes me. Reporting street style for CollegeFashionista throughout my college career has convinced me of fashion’s power to speak for an individual. Dress how you want to show off your own personal style! Never hide your personality and always accessorize with a smile and confidence. No matter where I go after Syracuse University, there is an outfit to match and an accessory to accompany it.
