STYLE GURU BIO: Brianna Wood

Hi, there! I am so excited for this new journey as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I cannot believe that I am heading into my junior year at Indiana University. People are not lying when they say college goes by in the blink of an eye! I am an Apparel Merchandising major with minors in Business and Fashion Design. I think the world underestimates the creative and ingenious minds of the students on IU’s campus, so I am looking forward to discovering some its best Fashionistas/os this fall!

When I look back at my childhood, fashion was not exactly something that was on my radar. I grew up in a small town near Southbend, Indiana and loved playing basketball, soccer and volleyball. In high school, I faced an injury that ended my athletic career and I found myself searching for a new identity without sports. That is when I stumbled upon this little store in my hometown called Sorella Boutique. I had the pleasure of working there for the rest of my time in high school and completely fell in love with fashion. I will forever be indebted to the sweet owner of Sorella who inspired me to pursue fashion in college.

I can’t say I have a specific style with which I identify. I enjoy expressing myself through my wardrobe so I never want to limit myself to one style of dress. Overall, I tend to keep my wardrobe pretty simple so my statement pieces can really pop. I featured these adorable fringe booties that I have pictured in today’s post. I let them shine by pairing them with white ankle skinnies and a polka-dot chambray shirt. I love stacking bangles so I mixed and matched Alex and Ani and Bourbon and Bowtie bracelets to complete my look.

If I have not said it enough times already, I am SO excited to share with you the looks of the Fashionistas/os on my campus. Be sure to check out my fellow Style Gurus’ pages as I am sure they will be highlighting some amazing looks this fall, as well!
