STYLE GURU BIO: Brianna dela Torre

Hello fellow Fashionistas! I’m Brianna and I am a first year student at the University of Pittsburgh. Although my major in Biology with a focus on Pre-physical Therapy may not be typical for someone who loves fashion, I am here to prove the stereotype wrong. I first heard about the CollegeFashionista website through my best friend. She and I both share a love for fashion and all the aspects that go into cultivating the perfect outfit. When I heard that there was an opportunity for me to pursue my interest for fashion with other college peers, I jumped at the chance. I wanted to be a Style Guru because of the opportunity it has and will give me to explore how each one of us combines the newest trends with our own personal style.

Personally, my wardrobe choices reflect my moods, or a theme that I have chosen for the day. For this reason, on gloomy days I could be found in a black Wednesday Adams-esque ensemble, but on chilly fall days I most likely can be found in a red lumberjack plaid.

Though this is my first experience with being a Style Guru, in high school I was co-president of my school’s fashion club. Within our club we held a fashion show where the aspiring designers and models alike showcased their talents in the spring, with the proceeds going to a local charity or foundation. In addition to this fashion club, this fall myself along with two friends started a fashion blog. We started our blog to keep in touch with each other, and to allow ourselves to explore our senses of style. Though we do not have a large website or following, it has been a great way to keep in touch with each other whilst in school, and to keep our fashion juices flowing.

As the semester goes on, I hope to be able to share great style and outfits with all of you who read and follow CollegeFashionista. I am so excited to experience being a Style Guru!
