STYLE GURU BIO: Brenna Green

Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Brenna Green and I am a sophomore at Michigan State University studying Management and Retail Management. My life is filled with coffee, pictures of pugs, Polaroids and, of course, fashion. I’ve worked in retail for the past year and a half and it quickly became a passion for me. Besides helping me decide a major, it helped me to develop a true love for styling and inspired me to apply to be a Style Guru—and just like that, here I am!

My style is something that is really hard to put into a box. I identify with so many looks and I like to experiment. I love mixing textures and prints, and I especially love wearing outfits that are color-blocked. I’m constantly layering random things I find in my closet, not only for the fashion appeal but also because when living in Michigan, the day could start out at 55 degrees and end at 82 degrees, so I like to have the option to shed something if necessary. I also drift towards oversized, loose items. I like to be comfy for my classes, and I feel confined in anything that’s too tight.

The outfit I have on here is a pretty common look for me. I think flannels are such a great way to bring a little pattern into a boring outfit. A comfy T-shirt is a staple and can be used in so many ways. Underneath, a bralette is not only a fantastic substitute for a bra, but also adds some texture and interest. Combining layered necklaces with that texture makes for a great focal point. Big sunglasses, a perforated bag and cute combats complete my look.

I’m so excited for this semester and I know it’s going to be #RAD! Make sure to check back and stay updated with the rest of my posts!
