STYLE GURU BIO: Braeden Villeneuve

Hi everyone and welcome aboard! I’m Braeden Villeneuve, a junior at Syracuse University majoring in Marketing and Finance and minoring in Public Communications. This semester, I have decided to trade in the snowy sidewalks of Syracuse, New York for the cobblestone streets of Florence, Italy, home of some of the best fashion in the world. I’d love to take you along with me during my four month journey across Europe and hopefully to some of the fashion capitals of the world.

If you’re less interested in world travel and more into Syracuse students’ style, you’ve still come to the right place. While I’ll be traveling around the streets of Europe, I’ll be surrounded by both college students and some incredible street style. The result will hopefully be a well-documented journey combining fashion, culture and college.

Before I pass myself off as an experienced jet-setter, I’d like to mention that this will be my first time living anywhere except upstate New York. While central New York may not be a fashion hub, I believe that you can find inspiration anywhere, even if it is not on the bustling streets of New York City or Los Angeles. Fashion magazines, Pinterest, social media and the outfits I see around campus have always sparked my style creativity.

Since I am the typical college student struggling to afford a nice dinner, let alone a nice pair of shoes, I am all about finding the best bargains. I love to invest in a few great staple pieces, but I am a firm believer in the idea that you don’t need to break the bank to have a stylish wardrobe. My style is relatively simple, feminine and on the preppy side; it will surely grow and evolve in the coming months thanks to some European fashion inspiration. I love layering cozy sweaters, leather boots and chunky jewelry. Anything from a big plaid blanket scarf, to bright rain boots, to a cozy winter jacket calls my name.

I am so excited to see what this semester has in store, and I’m sure it will be the experience of a lifetime. Hope you all enjoy my take on the fashions around campus and in Italy! Be sure to check back each month for a new post.
