STYLE GURU BIO: Becca Canter

Hi everyone! My name is Becca and I am a soon to be sophomore at Missouri State University. I am double majoring in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising, (what else would you expect from a fellow Fashionista).

I’m originally from New York and moving to the south certainly hasn’t influenced my urban style. Ever since I was in seventh grade, I knew I wanted a career in fashion. I even joined a fashion design club and learned to sew for the first time. I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t into fashion.

I’m always experimenting with my outfits and trying to figure out what best suits me. I have gone from edgy to girly to big city-chic. The one thing hasn’t changed is my love for shoes. Anyone who knows me can tell you I prefer to rock a good heel over flats any day, (but a pair of adidas never hurt anybody). Whether it’s one of my many—and trust me it’s a lot—pairs of booties or a chunky-heeled sandal.

When I’m not in school, I am working seasonally at Forever 21. I could not have found a better job. To me it’s important to understand all aspects of the fashion world, from designing the clothes to selling them. Another passion, and hopefully one day a career of mine is sketching out my own designs. I have multiple sketchbooks full of ideas that I intend to create in the future.

I am so excited to start my journey as a Style Guru for the summer semester with all you #RAD Fashionistas/os!
