STYLE GURU BIO: Baylee Jackson

Hey there fellow Fashionistas/os, my name is Baylee Jackson! I am a freshman at Columbia College Chicago with a major in fashion business and merchandising and a minor in dance. To say I’m simply “excited” to partner up with CollegeFashionista this semester would be an enormous understatement! While some might find it ambitious to try to tackle Chicago’s College fashion scene, I find the challenge exciting and I cant wait to take you on this journey with me.

As a member of the guilty party when it comes to social media addictions, I find myself constantly seeking the newest styles for personal inspiration. Whether it be through Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr or anything of the like, I am constantly screen-shotting or pinning anything that coincides with my personal style.

So if I had to simply explain myself and my style, I would call it preppy, chic and pink. I enjoy mixing looks and combining different ideas to express my personality through fashion. I have a tendency to find myself in a nice pair of jeans, a cute sweater, a pointed toe flat and dazzled with accessories. But being in Chicago has pushed me to be a little more chic and a little edgier with my look. Currently, I’m loving the ripped jean look with a cute pair of pointed heels or flats; mixing the preppy and chic, and accomplishing a classic look. And to top it all off, for me personally, pink is a must. In nearly every outfit, I find myself adding a touch of pink wherever I can. Whether it be a strong pink lip, blush pink clutch or vibrant pink sunnies, the addition of pink completes my outfit.

As a first time writer for CollegeFashionista, I am excited to bring to light Chicago’s fashion scene. I’m confident that this will be an amazing semester and I promise to share with you some wonderful insights on new trends and growing fashions! And remember, mixing styles is one of the newest trends, so try it out! Maybe even add a pop of pink, and shake things up!
