STYLE GURU BIO: Bailey Russell

Hello, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! First off, I am excited to be an intern for CollegeFashionista, and I’m thrilled to take on the summer ahead of me. A few quick facts about myself: my name is Bailey Russell and I am an incoming freshman at Illinois State University. Having a love for fashion and a future in journalism, I decided to utilize my passions for an amazing opportunity as an intern for CollegeFashionista! I don’t think I could score a more perfect internship for myself.

I have always had a love for fashion, and have definitely been through many phases. From Abercrombie Kids, to the PacSun/Zumeiz and now to the Forever21 and H&M. stage. Through the dreadful documented outfits over the years, I gained a greater sense of style. I realized that even though I’m no longer a high-waisted, extremely skinny black pants type of person, that I can still interchange styles to be unique and satisfied.

The outfit featured in this post is a perfect preppy, spring outfit. The boots are my favorite spring shoes because they are so versatile, and also because the purchase of the Toms granted someone in need a pair of shoes. How awesome? Trendy shoes for myself, and a necessity for another! The charm bracelet is also a wonderful product, because with a 20 dollar purchase or more, Bayr Necessities agrees to donate one dollar to Feeding America. Chambray is another one of my favorites because of its versatility. It looks great with dresses, and even looks great AS dressesI chose this outfit to write-up about because it is a simple, yet trendy outfit that anyone can wear!

I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be a Style Guru and seek different styles throughout the summer. It will not only be a personal gain for myself from my photography, journalism and communication skills, but hopefully exceptional style advice for all the Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there!

Realizing that I am already a shopaholic and a desperate shoe addict, I am hoping this summer doesn’t destroy my bank account even more because of all the amazing people I come across, and all the trends I have the pleasure to write about. As a fellow classmate of mine said, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone,” and I have a goal to break out of my box through this internship. I encourage you all to follow along with my journey this semester as a Style Guru to not only acquire tips from my posts, but to also experience the change throughout my journalism and photography skills!

I look forward to this summer as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru!
