STYLE GURU BIO: Bailey Klocko

May 30th, 2016 at 2:00am

My name is Bailey Klocko, and this year I am going to be a junior at Penn State University. I just made a slight change from being a Kinesiology major to pursue a degree in Public Relations instead. I am so psyched to be interning at CollegeFashionista, and I cannot wait to see how this experience pushes me to broaden my fashion horizons!

I don’t really remember a time where I was not obsessed with fashion. When I was little, I remember thinking that three of the outfits I had put together were so amazing that I refused to wear anything else. Now I have an extremely bad habit of not wanting to repeat outfits. This comes at an extremely high cost for my bank account.

There’s no doubt in my mind that my parents were my first fashion icons. Both of them were pretty hardcore punk rockers––I mean, we’re talking leather-everything and Dr. Martens-only. Their outfits definitely made statements, and I try to do the same with mine today! Anytime I get the chance to dress a little different than other people normally would, I take it. Another major fashion inspiration of mine is basically anything Vanessa Hudgens wears at Coachella. Somehow she manages to kill her boho looks every single year.

This outfit here is a perfect description of my style: I would describe my style as ’90s grunge with a hippie twist. I am obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops––They’re so perfect for the spring- or summertime, and definitely perfect to wear to a festival! The jean shorts have a braided detail on the pockets, which gives them the perfect festival vibe. Chokers are so popular right now, and I think that this velvet one is the perfect accessory to make any outfit more fashionable. And these lace-up gladiators are my go-to shoe at the moment. I love the velvet fabric and just think they are the perfect addition to my outfits.

I am so excited to start writing for CollegeFashionista. There’s nothing that makes me happier than being able to share my outfit ideas with everyone! Stay fab!
