Hey friends! My name is Autumn Carter, and I’m super excited to be a Style Guru for all of you this semester. I’ve always loved fashion, and I happen to suffer from a major shopping addiction; which is probably what lead me to a job in retail. At the moment, I am a sophomore at the University of Oregon where I am studying photography, public relations and Business. I can’t wait to share will you all the style my school has to offer.
Growing up in the suburbs of the Midwest was a struggle for me fashion wise. Everyone always wore the same thing, had the same style and shopped the same brands. As I got older I took a huge interest in fashion. One of my favorite things to do is find online boutiques that no one knew about. The one thing that truly spawned my obsession with fashion was Pinterest. I love being able to get on my phone and get instant fashion inspiration. That is why I am so excited to have this internship and opportunity to reach other Fashionistas/os. Growing up, I had very few opportunities to gather fashion inspiration, and I’m hoping I can inspire others with the fashion I find on my streets.
I would describe my personal style as boho-chic with a hint of preppy. I absolutely love styles such as those seen in brands like J.Crew and Brandy Melville. My favorite thing to do is find a balance of these two styles.
When I’m not shopping, working or on social media, I can normally be found on stage. I love theater, and the opportunity to be able to take someone into another world and away from reality, if only for a few hours. Getting to wear the fabulous costumes is always a bonus. I also love hanging out with my sorority sisters, and of course my two-month-old puppy Sasha.
I can not wait to start sharing my favorite street fashion and hopefully inspire you to step out and create your own sense of style. I’ll leave you with my favorite quote from the one and only Lilly Pulitzer “Life’s a Party. Dress Like It.”
