Hey there, Fashionistas/os, I have just finished up my sophomore year at William Jewell College. If you haven’t heard of William Jewell that’s okay, most people have not. It’s a small liberal arts college with a strong community on campus and is nested in a strong community that is just a 15-minute drive from downtown Kansas City. I am studying Nursing and Business at William Jewell, which is kind of an odd combination, and to top it off now I am thrilled to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer!

I can’t say that fashion has always been the center of my life, rather even really part of my life until recently. When I was younger I was a complete tomboy. All I needed were T-shirts, basketball shorts and a pair of tennis shoes. However, as I entered my freshman year of college I started to care a little more and I started to feel a sense of confidence. It was amazing how much confidence can be gained just by putting an outfit. The outfits people wear are a first glimpse at who they are as a person.

Since showing more of an interest fashion I have started subscribing to more magazines, YouTube channels and blogs. Pinterest has become one of my best tools. I like Pinterest because I am able to take a piece from my closet, search it on Pinterest and see all the different ways I am able to wear that piece. My major focuses when it comes to fashion are expressing myself and doing that on a college student budget. I am all about shopping the sale racks because cheaper items ultimately mean more items can be bought.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer and I am excited to be on the hunt to find and showcase all of the Fashionistas/os out there!
