My name is Audra Cappelli, and I am currently a sophomore, studying art at Tyler School of Art. I am so excited to say I will be joining the CollegeFashionista team for the first time as a Style Guru! Fashion has always been a great love of mine, but it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve begun feeling confident in experimenting in different styles myself. Being in Philadelphia has definitely influenced my recent fashion choices. It has made me feel more compelled to wear things I used to be afraid to try. Finding fashion inspiration is almost too easy when you attend a college, like Temple University, where the campus is filled with such a diverse group of people with different styles.
Since I spend most of my time in the art studios, I have the opportunity to surround myself with the coolest, most creative people. Not only do they inspire my art, but they have influenced my style as well. To be honest, I’ve definitely upped my fashion game since coming to Tyler because of how awesome my peers dress! I personally love the way my fellow artists make me want to try out new styles. I will definitely be showcasing these styles in the weeks to come.
I consider my style very eclectic. I have such a hard time defining it because I pull inspiration from many different clothing styles. I love juxtaposing hard and soft elements within outfits. For example, I like pairing feminine dresses with my beloved Doc Martens and sporting an oversized plaid flannel with heeled booties.
This semester, I will be writing for STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK. I cannot wait to see what fashions I find this coming semester. Check back every Monday to see what the Fashionistas/os of Temple University are wearing!
