STYLE GURU BIO: Asia Milia Ware

August 31st, 2015 at 2:00am

Fashion editor, stylist, magazine editor-in-chief, entrepreneur, fashion blogger and fitness guru—these are a few titles you can expect to see me at in due time, but for now, I am Asia Milia Ware. I’m a junior Strategic Communications major and English minor at Hampton University. I am beyond excited to be interning with CollegeFashionista for my second semester and during favorite season: fall. I am from the best city, New York City; however I will be photographing on my beautiful campus surrounded by the water in Hampton, Virginia.

This semester, I will bring the most amazing posts to CollegeFashionista with the best fall fashion. Fashion is my lifestyle. I often use the metaphor of comparing my fashion to art. My body is my canvas and my clothes are my paint; I create art through fashion. Whenever I step outside, I am preparing to display my brand, and that mindset is what allows me to grow in this industry.

As a student at Hampton University, I am a first year student leader, the editor of the campus section of the newspaper, The Script and I am also a part of Women ’s Caucus. Many college students with busy schedules usually throw on sweats and a T-shirt to start their day, but not at Hampton. Hampton men and Hampton women strut the campus streets every day like a fashion show. This fall, I will be able to display the fashion show I experience everyday.

As I previously stated, I aspire to be a fashion editor/stylist and I plan to do it soon . I am working my way towards my goal everyday. This past summer, along with my CollegeFashionista internship, I interned for ADEAM, where I became very familiar with their resort 2016 collection, and worked very closely with marketing and sales. I also worked as a brand ambassador for Banana Republic, where I broadened my knowledge in retail.

I am currently in the process of creating my own fashion and fitness blog, which will launch in the next few weeks. This fall, expect nothing but my favorite essentials for fall. I love fall because of the layering. Fur vests, blazers, bomber jackets, over-the-knee boots and leather—I can go on for days about fall fashion. Expect nothing but greatness from my campus and myself as I bring you the most elite fall fashion.

My style is very business casual, and I’ve always been like that. A button-down and a skirt is not just my internship attire, it is my campus attire, as well.

I can’t wait to see what this fall brings, and I am ecstatic for a second semester with CollegeFashionista. Style on Fashionistas and Fashionistas because this semester will be a RAD one.
