STYLE GURU BIO: Ashlin Lopez

January 4th, 2017 at 2:00am

Hey, everyone! I’m Ashlin and I go to East Stroudsburg University. I’m so excited to be a Style Guru for the second semester of my senior year! I am a communications major with a concentration in public relations. I currently work at American Eagle Outfitters, so I’m constantly surrounded by clothes, accessories, and amazing Fashionistas/os. I’ve always had a strong interest in fashion and beauty and I hope to have a career that mixes what I’m studying with what I love. I can’t wait to see and experience all of the opportunities CollegeFashionista has for me!

Much like fashion, my style is constantly changing. One day I could be in the mood to wear an extremely feminine and girly outfit, then the next day I could be wearing an outfit that is the complete opposite. It all depends on my mood, the time of the day, the occasion, and, of course, the crazy weather we get here in the Poconos. I absolutely love wearing simple pieces and jazzing them up with one or two (maybe even three!) statement pieces. The people I most look up to in fashion are the amazing ladies and men I watch in YouTube videos. Desi Perkins and James Charles are probably my top two style inspirations. They make comfy outfits look edgy and chic, which is my ultimate goal.

Since my STYLE GURU BIO is supposed to portray my style, I decided to feature one of my favorite outfits to wear. It’s comfy, but still has some edge to it. Everything I’m wearing is what I consider to be a must-have in my wardrobe. First off, my favorite crewneck sweater. Crewneck sweaters are probably my favorite piece of clothing to own because you can dress them up or down. Not to mention how comfy they are. Next up, are my distressed denim jeans and jacket. Distressed denim adds extra flair to any look. I love to mix my denim, which is why I opted for a light blue jean jacket and faded black jeans.

Now moving on to accessories. Accessories can make or break your look. I went with a long, mixed metal necklace to add a little shine to the look. I didn’t want my necklace to take away from my distressed denim, which is why I went with something simpler.

Now let’s talk about shoes. Booties are a staple for me. They’re comfy, yet cute and can dress up so many looks! Last, but not least, my beanie. I probably could not live without this thing. Having curly hair isn’t always a walk in the park. Luckily, my beanie tames the beast on my head while keeping me nice and warm.

I am so excited to start on this journey with CollegeFashionista and all of my fellow Style Gurus. I just know this is going to be a RAD semester!
