Hey, Fashionistas, I’m Ashley Hunte. I’m 21 years old and an Interior Design major in my senior year at Suffolk University. I am a resident of New York City but I spent my childhood on the lovely island of Barbados. Yes, Fashionistas, the same island that singer and fashion icon Rihanna hails from. As far as I can remember, I’ve been into fashion: from playing dress-up in my mom’s clothes and high heels, or trying to persuade my mom to let me wear lip-gloss and nail polish to my current obsession with lipsticks and statement necklaces. I am really excited to be interning for CollegeFashionista this fall.
I was fortunate to study abroad in Madrid during my spring semester of junior year, which was quite an experience. While being abroad, I had the opportunity to visit the top fashion capital: Milan. It was beyond my wildest dreams. I was able to find inspiration from their culture, which influenced my style. My travels taught me the importance of presenting my best self and also helped me to define my personal style.
I would describe my style as feminine-chic. I like to take a creative approach to my fashion. I absolutely love accessories; I’m never caught without some type of accessory, whether it’s a bold necklace or chic arm candy. Accessories are a girl’s best friend.
I have my own blog named Chic Like Me and I would say it’s more of a creative blog. I started blogging while abroad and it’s one of my favorite hobbies. Being a blogger and a travel luster, I learned that you’re able to get out of your comfort zone and explore different platforms of the fashion world.
I believe that once you’re confident in your own style and you put your best Manolo Blahnik forward, nothing else matters. Here’s to a fashionable fall semester!
