STYLE GURU BIO: Ashley Curci

Hello there, my name is Ashley Curci and I just started my last semester of my senior year at William Paterson University. I’m majoring in public relations and double minoring in music management and women’s gender studies. Upon graduation, I hope to work at a music PR firm in either Los Angeles or Chicago.

Growing up, my mom constantly had some form of rock and roll playing in the house. I began idolizing female artists such as Stevie Nicks and the hardcore babes from The Runaways. This played a huge role in where I began taking my fashion inspiration from. They dressed with an attitude that was subtly sexy, yet their outfits said “don’t mess with me.” which was something I really admired.

On a day-to-day basis, my style can be described as laid back with a touch of bohemian/grunge. My go-to outfit would be a distressed T-shirt, leather jacket, black skinny jeans and thigh-high boots. Although, I’m a sucker for the combination of a good fur coat and lace dress.

Although I’m not a huge fan of jewelry, I love spicing up my outfits with Free People chokers. Right now, I’m obsessed with the lace-up body suits because by simply adding a leather jacket you’re ready for a night out. Thigh-high boots (my guilty pleasure) can also make an outfit effortlessly sexy, like these ones from NASTY GAL.  I tend to mix higher priced accessories with thrifted/less expensive clothing just because those are the items that can really make an outfit stand out.
