As a second semester senior at New York University, writing my final CollegeFashionista bio is bittersweet. I have been contributing to the site since my sophomore year, and can’t believe my days of stalking, hunting and chasing down well-dressed strangers are quickly dwindling. Although my creep-factor will undoubtedly lessen once I throw in my CF hat, I will certainly miss the amazing people and opportunities that I encountered along the way.
Upon graduation my goal is to be in a place where I can hone my skills as a journalist, further my fashion knowledge and do so while actively reporting in the field. As much as I love New York City, I am applying to every sartorial-obsessed student’s dream school, Central Saint Martins, to obtain a Masters Degree in Fashion Journalism. Greats like Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen and Hamish Bowles have all graced the roster of the London-based college, which is located in a city from which I draw fashion influences daily. Also enticing to my vagabond self is the fact that a plethora of foreign cultures, fashions and experiences would be just a train ride away!
Until I find out whether London is actually calling, I will be finishing up my double major at NYU and filling the extra slots in my schedule with African Dance and Piano classes. (Rough life, I know.) In addition to College Fashionista, I will also be interning at Women’s Wear Daily, writing for NYU’s HAZE Magazine, freelancing for Time Out New York, and shoving people out of my way at sample sales.
College Fashionista, it’s been one rad ride, thanks for everything!
