Creativity has long time been apart of my life. Growing up as the daughter of an incredible artist, I have constantly been inspired by unique expression. Fashion is the perfect outlet to express individuality and claim a unique style.
Fashion is an instant language. First impressions are everything – beginning with the way we please the eye. Even if I’m feeling a “sweatpants, sweatshirt kind of day,” I always find a way to spice up my outfit. I have learned to shop and dress for my body type, which is crucial to finding your own sense of fashion and comfort. Beautiful scarves, big earrings and unique boots are my go to accessories, inspired by the warm, rich fall season. Some may even consider me an accessory queen, but I believe a girl can never have too many pairs of earrings.
Since the beginning of college, I have truly come to understand the importance of the “sale rack”. Reinventing looks from magazines and the runway at a cheaper price has become a new hobby of mine. I love a great bargain, but at the same time, I can still justify splurging on a stunning staple item.
The “I have nothing to wear,” phrase is famous amongst women, since dressing for an occasion can be stressful. I am eager to begin my WHAT TO WEAR column as a Style Guru, investigating styles on the beautiful Midwest campus at the University of Iowa. Accessorize, stay comfy, and dare to be different!
