Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Anne Duncan and I am a senior majoring in Photography at Marywood University. I am beyond excited to begin my first semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista.
Apart from being a full time student, I also assist at Sanderson Place Salon in Scranton on the weekends. Working in a salon setting has been amazing and has given me the opportunity to see all of the major trends in regards to hair and makeup. Currently my favorite beauty trend (and go to look) is bohemian natural. There is something to be said for a fresh face and an awesome beach wave that can be achieved with just a little sea salt spray.
I like to think that living in a small town has helped me curate my individual style early on. When it comes to fashion, I always encourage people to shop local. I am the first person to say the malls in the Scranton area are lacking, but the local boutiques which sell everything from Free People dresses to amazing label free rompers are absolutely fabulous. I am also obsessed with thrift shopping. I always get a rush when I go into a thrift store and find an amazing piece on my college student budget, like just the other day when I was at the local thrift store and found a classic J.Crew statement necklace for under 10 dollars.
