STYLE GURU BIO: Annastasha Willis

Style Guru Bio

My name is Annastasha Willis and I am ecstatic to be a Style Guru for a second semester, especially since I will be capturing college style this spring in Hong Kong, China. I have never been out the country so I am ready to be immersed in an entirely new setting. I can’t wait to experience cultural difference, expand my knowledge on international fashion and bring new ideas and aesthetics to my major.

I am a sophomore at Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in Fashion Marketing with a minor in Advertising. As of now I’m still doing some soul searching as to what I want to do in the fashion industry. But working with the CollegeFashionista team for a second semester has broadened my horizons in so many aspects of my life and career. Something I’ve learned this semester is to be an opportunist. Don’t set boundaries for yourself, take full advantage of all resources and opportunities that come your way, even if it’s out of your comfort zone. I know that for me as an student at SCAD, I’m always finding new ways to evolve my craft but also be a well rounded artist and individual. Never would I have thought to engage in so many wonderful things, including writing for CollegeFashionista, where I would exceed my exceptions and add another notch to my belt of what I am capable of.

My personal style has evolved tremendously since I’ve been in college. In high school, I really didn’t know who I wanted to be. I basically blended into what everyone else was doing. When I got to college, I began finding myself and in the process started creating a personal style that showcased that. And to this very day, I’m still trying to figure it out. Right now I’ve grown a love for jewelry, mainly statement earrings and necklaces because of the huge impression they make. I believe accessories are what really individualizes an outfit, that’s why I’m so intrigued by them. Spring is the season where everything is bolder. I’m so ready to unleash the color blocking, chiffon and florals. Yes, I have enjoyed my leathers and faux furs this fall, but I’m a southern girl who believes the less clothing, the better.
