STYLE GURU BIO: Anica Rose Curtis

January 4th, 2016 at 2:00am

Hey all my fashion peeps! My name is Anica Rose Curtis and I am currently a graduate student at the W.P. Carey school of Business at Arizona State University. I graduated from cosmetology school prior to attending Arizona State University, and worked in a salon for about a year. I went on to undergraduate studies and now I am finishing it up with a masters. As much as I love being a student, the ultimate goal is to work in social media marketing for a power house like Benefit Cosmetics or Seventeen Magazine.

Although neither of my parents anticipated their daughter to be fashion obsessed, the love for all thing clothes was inevitable. My paternal grandmother is a seamstress who designed and sewed dance costumes at the University of Arizona while she was in college. My grandmother on my mother’s side worked as the sales rep for my great aunt’s clothing company designed and manufactured in San Francisco in the ’60s-’70s. So obviously it runs through my veins.

I was first introduced to fashion as a career choice in my undergrad when I interned for a small dress company called JUNIEblake. I was their social media specialist and fell in LOVE. I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of forever. We all have our eyes glued to Instagram anyways, why not get paid for it?

I do have my own personal blog that I use as an album for traveling, fashion, family and whatever else life throws at me. I am excited to be a new addition to the CollegeFashionista Style Guru family and focus on fashion.

In this post, I’m wearing my favorite Target men’s T-shirt, Hollister Co. overalls that I purchased at Marshalls, an older fur cardigan that I have had for years, a knitted beanie from Amazon and Forever 21 black booties.

I hope you’ll follow along this semester and give me some #RAD.
