STYLE GURU BIO: Anareli Larios

January 18th, 2017 at 2:00am

Hey there! I’m Anareli, and I’m so stoked to be joining CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru for the spring ’17 semester. I’m a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and I’m majoring in business marketing with an art minor. It’s a year and a half into my college career, and I’m excited for what my future holds. I focus a lot on my photography, so I tend to get enthusiastic whenever I collaborate with others who are as like-minded as me.

I’m super fluid with my style, and I like to experiment a lot based on what I see on Instagram and on Twitter. My style also depends on what I’m musically inspired by, and lately it’s been on a dark mood (you can thank The Weeknd and The Neighbourhood for that). That means I’m wearing trench coats over dark hoodies, a bold lipstick, ripped jeans, and the occasional denim jacket. Other days I feel like the total sweetheart girl-next-door, with the softly colored lips, an oversize sweater, some booties, and boyfriend jeans.

Mostly though, my style is just casual. I don’t really go out that much to events (not that I don’t like socializing with people—I’m a firm believer in networking with others—but I work most of the time). So the only time I basically get to strut who I am through my clothing is whenever I go to school, so I always try my best to look like I’m there to dress to impress… casually. I’ll throw in a dad hat with a statement there, whenever I have to cover up my bad hair days (don’t we all?).

I’m thrilled to be part of the team with you all, and make sure to keep up with my latest posts every month!
