STYLE GURU BIO: Amelia Hoge

Hi there!

My name is Amelia and this is my first semester as a Style Guru! I am so excited to be apart of this #RAD team and to be reporting on the trendiest looks at my local campus, Montgomery College. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Business, with near-future plans to transfer to a four-year university (my dream school is FIT!) as a Fashion Merchandising student.

On top of this internship and my studies in college, I also work as a sales associate and buyer at a local consignment shop called Reddz Trading. You could argue that I am pretty obsessed with my job. Working at Reddz has taught me so much about styling, keeping up with trends, designer names, visual merchandising, business strategies, sales and so much more. I have always been very passionate about working in the fashion industry and I am so excited for what the future has in store for me.

I would describe my style as girly/feminine but with an edgy twist. I love taking risks and being bold with my outfits by blending different styles, colors and trends together. Take my current outfit as an example: I mixed this Amanda & Chelsea corporate pencil skirt with a cold-shoulder lace top, completed with a Gothic-style choker, faux Love Bracelet bangles and Tory Burch ballet flats. This outfit is a perfect example of how I love to get creative with my style. I love putting pieces that don’t typically go together and making them look fabulous!

In my spare time, you can catch me on the mat in one of my weekly yoga classes, drinking soy lattes with my besties, watching Netflix with my roommate/best-friend/soul-sister or adventuring around town and exploring new places.

I’m looking forward to an awesome semester with y’all! Keep an eye out for my posts on street style in the Washington, DC area.
