My name is Amber Kazalbash and I am, once again, joining the Style Guru team this fall to share the looks of some of the most stylish gems at Cal State Fullerton.
This is my third and final year at CSUF and I want to make it count in every way possible. As a PR major and Spanish minor, I know how important it is to keep in the loop with the fashion community. Whether it is through my own personal style blog, CollegeFashionista or even other forms of social media, I love the fact that my interaction with other stylish students will help fashion live on. Through my weekly STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK articles, I hope to be able to inspire and share the dynamic yet chic styles of students here in Southern California this season.
Fall is my favorite season for fashion. I may be a California girl, but my personal way of dress involves a lot of layers and a sturdy pair of combat boots. This past New York Fashion Week, I was completely obsessed with the fall/winter ready-to-wear presentation by BCBGMAXAZRIA. Since then, I have literally been stocking up on every chiffon slit-skirt, slouched beanie and pair of leather leggings in sight. I also fell in love with the eye-catching Kenzo presentation (pun intended) during Paris Fashion Week. I can’t wait to finally bring that kind of effortlessly-cool style to my campus this semester.
Being apart of the CollegeFashionista team has opened so many doors for me. Thanks to my experience as a Style Guru for the past two semesters, I was able to be a part of one of the biggest non-profit fashion shows in the United States, Fashion Fighting Famine. This organization inspired me greatly and the idea of fashion with a cause has truly captivated me ever since. I have also recently become the content writer and stylist for a fabulous local retail chain, Heavenly Couture. All of these opportunities have been so rewarding, and I’m so happy that they all revolve around what I consider to be my lifestyle: fashion.
This fall, I am now even more eager to show you the amazing Fashionistas/os here in Southern California. It’s going to be an awesome semester filled with tips on how to take the trends around you and make them your own. Cheers!
