STYLE GURU BIO: Amber Joglar

I am so excited to be on board with College Fashionista again for the fall semester! It’s been such a fun experience sharing little pieces of me with other people in the world.

I am a Fashion Merchandising major with a minor in Photojournalism attending Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. I’m very grateful to be able to attend a school that is so renowned for its fashion program. I’m getting very involved with my major this semester and I’m very excited for all of the new classes that I’ll be taking!

Fashion has always been something very special to me. I’ve been through many phases stylistically, sticking to a tomboy look that lasted well into my junior high school years. Then as I got older, I branched out. I think I’ve finally settled on a more modern, grunge aesthetic. I have a serious (and when I say serious, I mean SERIOUS) love for dark colors, studded jewelry, and anything leather. While this is my go to style, I try to incorporate different elements into my looks so that my outfits don’t turn repetitive or uninspired. You gotta keep them on their toes!

Aside from a love for fashion, I’m a book worm, mediocre artist, and music fanatic. I love to read, anything from classics to cheesy, young adult books that have you teary-eyed 97 percent of the time. I enjoy drawing and painting, even though my skill set could be a little better. But practice makes perfect, am I right? Last, music has and always will be important to me. I used to sing in choirs all through out high school, and while I don’t anymore, you can still catch me belting out my favorite songs in the shower (I think we’re all a little guilty of that!).

I hope this gives you a little more insight into what I’m about, and what I’m interested in. I’m looking forward to another journey with my fellow College Fashionistas/os!
