Happy fall semester!! I’m overly excited to be writing my STYLE GURU BIO for this season. It feels so good to be back at it. This summer I wasn’t taking on the fashion world with a cool internship nor was I working endless hours of retail to get my foot in the door. I took a step back and decided to get a taste of the real world; a world very different than the one we learn about in our “Intro to Fashion” classes freshman year. This summer I spent two months in Central America teaching English and making the most amazing memories. So although it was my best summer yet and probably ever, it lacked the fashion influence. Therefore, being thrown back into the fashion world again and studying this fall’s street styles is extra exciting for me.
I’ll be a junior at Temple University this year and this will be my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I’ll be working at Free People and Jack Wills throughout the year, as well. Two jobs that can keep me interested and excited in the industry as I mosey through a schedule full of boring business classes.
With every semester beginning I fret over this STYLE GURU BIO, and this semester I was undoubtedly fretting once again. I was over-analyzing the outfit I wanted to be shot in and over-worrying over which look to chose. I soon realized I was being foolish. Why would I put on anything other than the truest representation of my personal style? Therefore, I ditched all my other options and grabbed my beloved maxi dress, my thrifted army jacket and was already jeweled out with my daily layers of accessories.
Ninety percent of my clothes are lacey and neutral tones. You could describe my style as layered and bohemian with a major vintage twist. Doesn’t sound very unique, I guess, but if you were to get an up close look you’d find I always have some sort of distinctive, eye-catching accessory to set me apart.
So this semester you’re in for another treat. I hope you check back each Friday to read my posts because I can promise you, you will not be disappointed!
