STYLE GURU BIO: Amanda Wendland

Hello, fellow Fashionistas! My name is Amanda Wendland but most people know me as the girl in the cheetah dress or sparkles because I believe there can never be too many sparkles or cheetah print in an outfit.

A very influential woman helped me to discover my love for business and I wound up at Bryant University studying International Business Management with the hope of pursuing a career in fashion. When I declared my minor in Italian, I hoped that it would soon lead me to the fashion capital of the world where I could further explore fashion. I will be getting that chance this January when I will be taking a three-credit course in Italy along with touring fashion houses in Milan.

When I manage to get a second to breathe between my eight classes, two jobs, being a Girl Scout leader, staying active in my sorority, Delta Zeta, and practicing Krav Maga (a type of karate). You will also find me drawing and writing love letters to my sweet Marine, who is always thousands of miles away defending our country.

It is amazing to think that CollegeFashionista has begun to lead me to the fashion industry, which I have always wanted to be a part of since I was very little. In middle school, I would strut down the aisle at lunch begging to throw away my friend’s trash so I could show off my model walk and poses to all. America’s Next Top Model was my life from a young age where the fashion god herself, Tyra Banks, showed girls how to survive in the demanding fashion industry.

I am so excited and grateful to be given this amazing opportunity to write for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru. You will find me writing about the most eye-catching styles on campus.
