STYLE GURU BIO: Amanda Serrano

Hey there, my fellow fashion trendsetters!

My name is Amanda Serrano, and I am a senior at the University of San Francisco who is majoring in marketing. When I am not in school, you can catch me soaking in the sun back home in beautiful Los Angeles. This is my second semester with CollegeFashionista after I took a break this past spring semester as I was studying abroad. After spending five months in Spain, I am back and better than ever as a Style Guru.  As much as I loved traveling through Europe, seeing how the other side of the world lives and eating endless amounts of delicious food, there is one thing I loved even more and that is the fashion.

Fashion in Europe is on an entire new level. I do not think that in the five months of traveling, I ever came across some one who was not stylish. I must admit I even gave into several trends out there myself.

However now that I am back home, I find myself already leaning towards my old ways. What are my old ways you may ask? Well, when it comes to my style it all depends on how I feel. I like to think of myself as a walking fashion mood ring. One day I can dress on the grunge side with my favorite plaid button-down and Dr. Martens. The next day you can find me sporting a chic, yet simple look with a pair of pumps or booties. It really just depends on what kind of look I want to try for the day. I love trying new looks and being bold. Today, my look was street style inspired featuring a pair of jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, a MISAKO purse and a pair of pumps.

If there is something I learned in Europe, it is that fashion is truly for everyone. It is a world of endless possibilities that are waiting to be tried. Being a trendsetter does not mean you need to be wearing the newest things off the runway. Don’t be discouraged and don’t hold back from trying something you have never tried before. Be bold and be you.
