Hello all you lovely Fashionistas! My name is Ally, and I just finished my first year at Pepperdine University. I am an international business major, so I had to find some way to express my extreme love of fashion. I am so excited to be a CollegeFashionista Style Guru this summer so I can do just that!
My love of fashion came about when I started high school. I realized how much I enjoyed trying new styles and trends before they were hot. Sometimes the look turned out well and other times I needed to go home and change. Regardless, I have always enjoyed trying new looks. The best feeling is when you try a new trend and it ends up turning out better than you expected.
I get inspiration from all over. Sometimes I’m inspired by a popular fashion bloggers (specifically WeWoreWhat), and sometimes I may be inspired by a song I heard on the radio. My style for the day usually depends on how I was feeling when I woke up. My style can range anywhere from posh and kate spade-inspired or edgy and more towards the side of Urban Outfitters.
My style has definitely changed since starting school in Malibu. I moved to Southern California all the way from Alabama. Living in California has given me more freedom to try new styles and really find what I enjoy wearing. Everyone has their own unique style here, and that is something I greatly appreciate. Walking up and down Melrose, I find inspiration from every store and every person I pass. Within one group of friends, there may be five new trends I want to try. That is what I love about Los Angeles. The city challenges my sense of style and forces me to try new trends I would never have thought of in Alabama.
At the moment, my closet has quite a few black dresses, along with multiple pairs of short boots. I have had a love of short boots for the past few years, and it grows as time goes on. Now that it’s getting warmer, I have racked up on some flowy shorts. Outfits that are cute but also allow movement are the best choices for me, and that is what I will be rocking all summer.
Throughout this summer, I intend to try many new styles and share that with you all. I look forward to the experience I am about to have as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I can’t wait to share my findings with everyone.
