STYLE GURU BIO: Allison Dooley

Hey there, my name is Allison. I’m a junior at the University of Oklahoma and I’m psyched to be representing OU as a Style Guru this semester. My major is public relations and I’m minoring in Spanish. Recently, I returned from studying abroad in Spain for a semester which was a dream travel destination, so I’m aiming to resettle into normal student life by becoming a “tourist” in my college town. Feel free to follow my adventures as a Global Engagement Fellow, Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and ordinary human being on Instagram at @allisondools!

I love living in big cities which is ironic because I’m originally from the southwest, so my style definitely reflects a city girl vibe. Amidst a sea of oversized and comfortable T-shirts and Lululemon leggings, I stick out like a sore thumb in my signature getup: a cropped faux fur vest, polished top, high-waisted skinny jeans, black boots, and a skinny scarf to top it all off. On campus I don’t blend in, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am inspired daily by Aubrey Hepburn’s mantra, “Life’s a party, dress like it.”

I wouldn’t be able to choose one favorite city even if my life depended on it. Personally, it’s between Milan and Madrid because I’m a sucker for southern European countries. After briefly visiting Milan, I had to wonder why Parisiennes are considered by many to be the most stylish people in the world. Since, never have I seen street style with such creativity, luxury and trendiness than in Milan. Plus, homemade Italian food is amazing. As for Madrid, it just feels like a second home to me. With the fantastic art museums, crazy beautiful architecture, nightlife and such friendly people, I’d relocate there in a heartbeat.

Here’s to an amazing semester, Fashionistas/os! May 2017 hold your most killer looks to date.
