Hello new and returning readers here at CollegeFashionista! I am so enthralled to join the talented team of Style Gurus again for this spring semester. Only writing for CollegeFashionista since the summer of 2013, I have still managed to learn so much in this ongoing experience as well as continuing to grow little by little in my writing and creative skills.
Normally a jewelry fanatic, my layering and stacking phases have slowly come to a close. Accessorizing more minimally in that department, I have grown to love a different kind of add-on to any outfit by showing some love to dressing my head. My most recent obsession with hats, head pieces, turbans and scarves have turned old outfits into fresh, new looks.
My failed attempts at incorporating color into my wardrobe in the past has only made me realize more and more how much I am subconsciously drawn to a neutral palette…and black—black definitely deserves its own category under my terms. However, with 2014 spring trends showcasing a plethora of pastels, bomber jackets, tea length skirts and button-downs who knows what I will experiment with next.
Not much has changed as far as my style goes since last semester, however, through my work here at CollegeFashionista it has inspired me to pursue a change into the Writing, Editing and Media major at Florida State University. With the start of the new year and change in my overall career’s direction, I am excited to see who, what and where the latest trends will be as I report every Monday on my STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK.
