STYLE GURU BIO: Allie Gold

From one island to the next, Newport is a place I am lucky enough to call my second home. I am a nursing student who appreciates fashion rather than spending 12 hour shifts in nursing scrubs (although they are very comfortable). With only one semester left of college at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, I cannot express my excitement to be starting out my final semester as a Style Guru.

Newport is that little city on the water that all the tourists love to visit, but to me it’s much more than just that. It’s where I discovered more about myself than I could ever imagine, it’s where I met some of my best friends, and it’s where I love to be. It is a little hidden gem with some of the most fantasizing views. The Cliff Walk and Ocean Drive are two breathtaking spots that have the power to make any picture look incredible. I am so thrilled to be able to share my love of Newport with everyone through fashion and photography.

In my earlier years I tested out the modeling world, and as a Long Island native, New York City was only a train ride away. When taking the noisy and long train in after a busy day of school as a fourth grader, I knew it would be a dream that I would never fulfill. Although I have always loved trying on new outfits and having my mom snap photos of me, what I really love is how amazing the outfit looks when it all comes together. Here I am seen in a pair of very beaten up boyfriend jeans from Zara that I snatched when I went to Madrid, Spain over the summer. I love them paired with my animal printed ballet flats to dress them up just a tad. In the fall, I also wear them with a chunky cable knit turtleneck to stay warm, or a white T-shirt for a relaxed look in the spring.

While this is just one of the many outfits I am excited to share, I am happy to know that my time spent as a Style Guru will include all four seasons! SEA you next time in Newport!
