STYLE GURU BIO: Allie DiBenedetto

Hi everyone! My name is Allie DiBenedetto and this is my third time around writing for CollegeFashionista. I am currently about to begin my junior year at the University of Rhode Island majoring in Fashion Merchandising. CollegeFashionsta is one of the best things to happen to me throughout my time in college so far. I have learned so many things about the fashion world as well as myself while being able to express what I love throughout my time writing for CollegeFashionista. I am super excited to begin my junior year as a Style Guru once again!

Although the trends are constantly changing, I would say my personal style stays the same. My style is very simple yet chic. My wardrobe consists of many simple versatile pieces that I can wear in different ways and for different occasions. One of these pieces is my distressed high-waisted Levi Brand shorts, which I am wearing in my photo. I have had these shorts since I was a freshman in high school and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to part with them. During the summer I live for crop tops and flowy bohemian style pants. I love putting together outfits that are super comfy yet super trendy.

My favorite color to wear is and will always will be black due to how flattering it is and how it goes with pretty much everything. Although I am constantly wearing black, I do love to add a pop of color to my ensembles. In my photo you can see I am wearing a black and white floral top paired with black strappy sandals but I threw on a turquoise chunky bracelet from J-Crew to add some color. I am also wearing black cat eye sunglasses from Francesca’s which are another one of my pieces that I pair with almost everything!

With this year being my junior year, I hope to gain a lot of experience in the fashion industry to prepare me for my future. I will be interning this spring at a local boutique focusing mainly on public relations and social media aspects. Along with this opportunity, I will be taking a lot more fashion related courses in which I look forward to learning more and more about my future. This is one of the things I love most about fashion, how many different aspects of the industry there really are and how much there is to learn about. Writing for CollegeFashionista keeps me involved in the fashion world everyday. The first thing that pops into my mind when I see someone is how I could incorporate their personal style into an article as well as how I can incorporate it into my own. My surroundings inspire me and my style every single day no matter where I am.

I could not be more excited and anxious to start my junior year as a Style Guru. Keep up with my articles this fall as I express my passion and showcase the many trends of students at the University of Rhode Island.
