STYLE GURU BIO: Alli Musolino

Hello again! It’s a new season, and my third semester interning with CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited. To share a few basic facts about myself: I’m a Communication Studies major and Graphic Design minor at Seattle Pacific University, an avid coffee drinker as well as barista, and I’m slightly obsessed about capturing the beautiful, wild and crazy stories that happen in our world.

Being from the PNW, adventures abound always. Between finding the latest market to visit, popping into the latest trendy coffee shops, and discovering great new mountains to hike and conquer there is never a dull moment. Amidst all of these explorations, there is always unique people and amazing street style to witness.

Growing up in an area which isn’t anything like LA or NYC I always had to find ways to make the fashion events that were occurring around the world accessible to myself. Since seventh grade, which can best best described as the “awkward years,” my interest in fashion skyrocketed. To this day, I frequently make an effort to visit websites like WhoWhatWear to Humans of New York.

The wise words of Gianna Versace describe what I love most about fashion in the best way: “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but decide what you are.” Fashion for me, has always been about personal preference and not what’s necessarily popular or “trendy.” In it’s truest sense, fashion is about personal style.

In this upcoming season, I hope to share more articles with you that are specific to individuals and highlight the original style of those on my campus and how that exemplifies their personality and uniqueness. Be on the lookout for my once-weekly posts every Tuesday this semester!
