STYLE GURU BIO: Alexie Dris

Hello, fashion people! My name is Alexie Dris, and I am currently a sophomore public relations student at the University of Florida.

I’m incredibly thrilled to start my journey with CollegeFashionista this semester. I couldn’t be happier to be able to share with you my personal style and inspirations. My passion for fashion has always been rooted in where I find style inspiration, so I hope to show you fellow fashion lovers that through my articles.

I first fell in love with fashion while watching films. The fashion and the colors in a film can bring everything to life. Growing up, I would see the different styles from different eras, like with Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or with Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink. Sometimes simply the colors themselves in a film would intrigue me, like in Moonrise Kingdom or in The Wizard of Oz. Through unknowingly studying one art form, a passion for another was born. I soon learned that I could use color and fashion to help tell my own story and reflect who I was. I am an old soul, so fashion that I see in films like these inspire me. With worshiping looks from decades ranging from the ’50s to the ’90s, my style is fluid and constantly evolving. I will one day wear a bright outfit inspired by the vibrant colors of the ’60s, and the next day I will wear a classic, all black look inspired by the ’50s.

For this article, I chose a balance of these two and went with an all black look paired with a pop of color.

I’m wearing an off-the-shoulder top with high-waisted, boyfriend jeans and a western belt. I added a feminine touch to contrast the boyfriend jeans with some colorful Mary Jane heels.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope to inspire some of you with each new post.
