STYLE GURU BIO: Alexia Morton

Hello again! I am back to work with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru for the fourth semester and I could not be more excited. This internship has been an incredible learning experience (and a lot of fun) over the past two years. It has allowed me to pursue my passions for writing, photography and, of course, fashion. I have become a more extroverted, detail-oriented and punctual person over the course of this internship and I can’t wait to see what this semester has in store.

I am currently a junior at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, studying journalism and art history. When I’m not studying in the library, I’m shopping at the mall or grabbing coffee with a friend (venti iced caramel macchiato, please).

You can always find me flipping through issues of Vogue or scrolling through my Instagram feed for inspiration. I would describe my personal style as laid-back and casual with a feminine flair. I am a sucker for a sassy graphic T-shirt and old boyfriend jeans, but I am also known to rock a pair of leather leggings and a faux fur vest.

This winter, I am looking forward to experimenting with warm, oversized coats, ponchos and eccentric prints. I am also thrilled that velvet is back in this season and I can dig my velvet dresses and leggings out of the back of my closet. I am anxious to try brightly colored leather, denim jumpsuits and pencil skirts with matching crop tops once warmer weather comes back to New England.

With so many amazing new designs for 2015, I am excited to see what trends my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos will be rocking on campus this semester.
