STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandra Urso

Who am I? Hello Fashionistas/os, my name is Alexandra Urso, however, I have gone by Alex since I could remember. I am starting my senior year at the wild and wonderful West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!). At the end of this year, I will be receiving my degree in fashion merchandising. Along with my fashion merchandising major, I am also minoring in both business and communications. I am an active sister of Alpha Omicron Pi here at WVU and can’t believe it’s my last year before I transition into an alumna.

If you were to see me on the streets, I am always in neutral colors. Black, tan, gray and brown are the only things you will see in my closet. Here and there I try to throw in some splash of color, but I typically only wear neutrals. One day I hope to be living in the beautiful city of New York or in California. I have had a love for fashion since elementary school, when I would beg my mom to let me pick out my own clothes in the store. From this, I learned how to become creative with what I wore and it shows when my friends are complimenting me saying, “Wow I would’ve never thought to put those pieces together!”

Headed downtown with your friends for the night? Going to your sorority’s chapter meeting? This look I put together qualifies for many different scenarios due to the non-extravagant pieces thrown together. When you are a college student on a budget, this outfit is perfect, since it look’s a little more expensive that it actually is. In this look, I am wearing an asymmetric black short sleeve dress from CHOiES, black opened-toe booties from Charlotte Russe, a black self-wrap pendant choker from Francescas, Gucci Aviator sunglasses and topped off with a brown and gold studded cross-body bag from Windsor to throw my phone, money, ID and lipstick in.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and to learn a little more about myself! I hope you all stick around throughout the semester to see what other outfits I show off around campus!
