STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandra Riba

Hi Fashionistas/os!

I just wanted to give a warm welcome to those who are new to my blog posts. Summer 2016 is going to be my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am more than excited to share my warm-weather wardrobe with you all.

I just finished my second year at New York University.  I feel as though I’m a nomadic student, in that I spent my first year in London and the last school year in New York.  I feel as though I am getting settled, but need to readjust to the odd weather that us East Coasters have been experiencing lately.  Summer is usually a time for us all to give up on ourselves.  At least I know that my friends and I would always stick to workout clothes and beach wear.  However, as I’ve gotten older, I have developed a more acute sense of self and that covers everything from hobbies to my overall style.

I don’t know about you, but sticking to simple dresses and decked out accessories is a go-to for warm, wacky weather. This dress and jacket are comfortable for a day out in New York, but look put together and polished.  Also, you’re prepared if the climate decides to turn from desert-like to a frozen tundra. These boots are a favorite because the heel gives me a slimming boost, as opposed to flats or trendy sneakers. These are Topshop, but there are some amazing styles, colors and patterns from L’intervalle.  Obviously a staple bag and French-chic scarf spice up any look.  For summer, this scarf is a fun addition to a rather neutral outfit.

I’m so honored to be a part of the summer CollegeFashionista team and just share my experiences and photos with you. Let me know your thoughts and the love is mutual.
