Hey! My name is Aishawarya and this is going to be my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I’m excited to return for the spring 2016 semester, because I’ve seen myself grow as both a writer and a Fashionista this past semester! This opportunity has really allowed me to keep an eye out for trends and helped me broaden my own personal style.

I’m currently a junior majoring in economics and biomolecular science at the University of Michigan, and I’m hoping to pursue a career in fashion, specifically the business side of things! I love everything about fashion, especially keeping an eye out for trends and seeing how our style is evolving through the years.

If I had to describe my personal style I’d have to say that it’s ever-changing. I like to experiment around and my day-to-day style is constantly changing. For example, some days my outfits are more feminine, occasionally they’re more grunge, and other days I go back to basics.

I usually pull my style inspiration from celebrities, street style on Instagram, fashion bloggers, as well as my friends! I would say the look that I’m sporting is somewhere between basics and grunge. I’m wearing a melange sweater with faux leather sleeves, a pair of leggings and gold-studded black riding boots. I’ve also added a long, layered necklace with black and white pendants as well as a gold statement cuff over my sleeve. The necklace complements the darker color palette of my outfit, while the gold cuff stands out against my faux-leather sleeve. Overall, this outfit is great for the winter because you can keep warm, yet show off your personal style at the same time!
