STYLE GURU BIO: Acree Trivett

I’m Acree and most of my life revolves around fashion. I was president of my high school’s fashion marketing club, I work in a boutique, my life comes to an abrupt halt during fashion week, I nearly cry every time I come in contact with high-end designer clothing and my current iPhone background is a portrait of Karl Lagerfeld.

My personal style is ever-changing but I usually maintain a monochromatic aesthetic. I’m so very guilty of the cliché fashion girl copout of wearing all black all the time. I find inspiration in the world around me, so naturally I look my best during fashion week and/or after I’ve watched Sex and The City. My style icons include but are certainly not limited to: Harry Styles, Cara Delevigne, Matty Healy, Alexa Chung and Stevie Nicks. Alright, fine and Kim Kardashian.

I was born and raised in Florida, so it’s a bit hard to keep on-trend while simultaneously melting away. I do love where I live, but I also love escaping it. I’ve traveled all over the United States, including both coasts from top to bottom. I’ve also traveled to Ecuador, England, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, Lithuania and several islands in the Caribbean. My travels have really shaped my sense of style as well as who I am as a person.

This two-piece is from the boutique I work at in downtown Deland, Florida called Pin Up Parlor. It’s quickly become a staple in my wardrobe because it’s easy to throw on and helps to keep me as cool as one can possibly be in 100 degree weather with 85 percent humidity. My matching Marc Jacobs watch and bag work alongside my trusty loafers to balance out my look and make it a bit more “grown up”. No outfit of mine will ever be complete without my beloved Spy sunglasses.

I’m looking forward to my first semester as a Style Guru. I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all, as well as the outfits of the Fashionistas and Fashionistos in my life.
