As I come into my third and final semester with CollegeFashionista and Belmont University, I can’t help feeling a little bittersweet. College has been my own personal bubble for so long that it’s hard to imagine a world other than the one I’m in, but it’s all about to change.
At the end of my junior year of school I asked myself the allusive question: what am I going to do after college? I’ve always had ideas for the future, but never really a set plan. I have always loved fashion, like most young women, but never considered it an option for the future. Working in the fashion industry seemed to be similar to wanting to become an A-list actress — completely impossible and based solely on luck. All of that changed when this internship as a Style Guru found me.
I never dreamt that CollegeFashionista would have given me all of the amazing opportunities that it has over the past two semesters. I’ve gotten to write and style for brand campaigns, act as a guest blogger for Intel, submit articles for USA Today and The Huffington Post, have photographs on the homepage of ASOS and chat with Rebecca Minkoff, Jennifer Fisher and the ladies at Shopbop. Clearly, CollegeFashionista has been good to me. I now feel more confident than ever in my resume and abilities to serve the fashion world. I know that when I graduate in May 2013 that something big is waiting for me and I will be ready.
