I’m Abby and I am a senior at Northwestern University. I’m a history major and the commissioner of my fantasy football league, but style is what truly drives me. I’m inspired by designers like Proenza Schouler and Miuccia Prada, even when my surroundings are a little more American Eagle and a little less Marc Jacobs. Whether in my hometown of Pittsburgh or at school in Evanston, I’m always ready to find the next new thing in street style or online. Exploring high fashion and chic street style has always been my escape from my own style ruts, and my challenge for 2013 is to break out of my comfort zone. My CollegeFashionista weekly dispatch is the perfect outlet for an untamable fashion obsession and a social media addiction. #thanksforthefreetherapy
In my personal style, I’m a J.Crew classic kind of girl: My daily variation on a button down-skinny jeans-Frye boots uniform is usually just in the color of the stripes in my shirt. In 2013, I vow to break out and try something new, and I’m bringing you along for the ride. I’m lucky enough to be writing the Fashionista/o Spotlight this spring, so I have the chance to interview Northwestern’s best-dressed and figure out how to copy their style. From favorite silhouettes to best online retailers, I’m looking for anything that will be help bring awesome street style right to you (and me!). I’m going to figure out how to make something outlandish or out-of-this-world cool seem totally accessible, and I can’t wait.
