STYLE GURU BIO: Amy Morse

Hello Fashionistas/os! I am a junior at Marist College studying Journalism, Fashion and Photography. I am on the board of my school’s Photography Club and I serve as the director of photography for Spoon University at Marist College, an online food resource and blog. I love food just as much as I love fashion.

I have been obsessed with the glamour of the fashion industry ever since I was able to open up my first magazine. It wasn’t until this past summer that I began to understand all of the not so glamorous work that goes into presenting something so beautiful. I assisted Dawn Kingston, a professional photographer, on shoots (I networked with her while shopping!) and captured behind the scene images for her and her blog. I will continue this work with Kingston over the summer in order to hone my skills as a fashion photographer. I also had the opportunity to photograph behind the scene images for the Marist College 29th Annual Silver Needle Fashion Show. After spending over five hours running around snapping candids of the models, I was exhausted but so grateful to have had the opportunity to get involved with such an amazing event.

I am always reading Women’s Wear Daily and various other fashion magazines while also keeping up with Bill Cunningham’s weekly reports on what’s trending in New York City. This summer I am so excited to share my insight as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and to be a part of a community that has grown so much since I started following the site.
