STYLE ADVICE: Take it Off, Girlfriend

If you live in Ohio you are aware of the constantly changing weather conditions. One day it is 65 degrees and sunny, and the next there’s snow on your windshield. With these conditions, one piece of advice I have to give is to layer up! Once you do that you can take off layer-by-layer once it hits that 65 after being a chilly 35 degrees.

If I know one thing, it’s the feeling of being that sweaty girl in class who was over prepared for the walk in the snow but not the raging heat from campus classrooms. It is so nice walking in from outside, but once I’m in, oh do I warm up fast. I sit trying not to touch anything and wait to cool down inside my heavy clothing. I think to myself, “if only I had thought this through before I had left.”

My Fashionista friend who is a freshman here at Ohio University definitely thought about layering up before she left her dorm when I saw her walking. She had a comfortable cream chimney collar sweatshirt with a heavier black jacket. She also wore light wash ripped jeans that contrasted with the black nicely. She could take off the black jacket and still be warm with the sweatshirt on still. She added a pop of color with her turquoise necklace. The duck boots this Fashionista has are an essential to have on campus. They have a rubber foot to help with wetness and padded ankles for warmth. They are perfect for any weather condition so you don’t have to worry about changing your shoes mid-day if a storm comes.

You always want to be prepared when it comes to your look, and part of that is being comfortable. So my advice to all you Fashionistas out there is to layer up! This makes it easier to be comfortable in any environment and it lets you add more and more to your look.
