STYLE ADVICE: Sprung Off Spring

Spring is officially here! Spring is personally my favorite season, as school comes to an end for the year and the weather is finally warmer, it means I can finally start wearing some of my favorite pieces again. As I’ve said before, I’m all about tank tops and cute off-the-shoulder tops, and everything else that comes with warmer weather. I also really like the patterns and color schemes for spring, such as pastels and, of course, florals.

Although these patterns and colors tend to be the most popular during spring, this specific look caught my eye because of how different it was. This Fashionista is wearing a golden yellow sweater underneath a black corduroy bomber jacket. She is wearing a black mini skirt and black velvet Creeper Puma sneakers. She is carrying a black fringed backpack to carry her stuff. Her dark burgundy lipstick tops off the look. This Fashionista dressed for the warmer weather while keeping her look edgy and dark. Yellow is the only light color she is wearing and the use of black allows the color to truly stand out.

This look is a reminder that your spring wardrobe doesn’t have to consist of your typical florals, etc. Although I’m a big fan of the typical spring colors, it was very refreshing to see someone rock this darker look on campus. Think twice before storing your darker clothes away for the next couple months. Get creative by mixing and matching darker colors with brighter ones; it only enhances the lighter colors more. Stand out this spring!
