STYLE ADVICE: Spring Quarter Blues

The advent of spring quarter is finally upon us here at University of Denver and everyone is whipping out their shorts and sandals already. Despite this, March and April are notoriously the months in which Denver sees a lot of snow and rain as well as days in the low 80s. Because of this, choosing an outfit on any given day can be major nightmare! Even on the nicest of days, a little extra layer or a pair of pants can go a long way if some pesky clouds roll in or if you have to run to lab in a hurry.

This Fashionista dressed perfectly for the weather by wearing a loose peasant blouse and a pair of distressed skinny jeans. Not only that, but the real beauty of her look is the way she pairs multiple shades of blue and even has a black choker on yet the look does not appear to be too matched in a monochromatic way. Her jeans are just a bright enough wash to stand out against the navy of the blouse and the black of the choker is subtle enough that it doesn’t interfere with the blue theme. This outfit really works because each blue shade is different, and the print of the blouse is small enough to not overpower the look.

Overall, this Fashionista managed to rock blue on blue with black and make it super chic, easy, and casual enough to go to class. Ultimately, this look is a great way to mix it up the first week of classes. Try it with shades of army green and olive or shades of brown and you’re on your way to being runway ready!
