STYLE ADVICE: Spring Into Style

With spring just around the corner, Instagram feeds and Pinterest boards are being flooded with spring style. Among all these brightly colored posts and pins, one can easily become overwhelmed. But, by the time you finish reading this article you will have an easy formula for a fun spring outfit, and some newfound style skills!

The key to creating an eye-catching spring outfit is to keep things light and flowy. I can already hear Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly saying, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” But hear me out, florals will always be good for spring, bringing me to the first part of the foolproof equation: a flowy floral top. For this look, this Fashionista is wearing a navy off-the-shoulder top. An off-the-shoulder top is an optional twist that adds a lot of playfulness to any look, and in this case, it really amps up this springy look!

Part two of the equation is a pair of good jeans. Jeans are a staple in every woman’s closet and are so dang versatile. Since there are so many styles of jeans out there, you can really add some personal flair to your look and choose a style that enhances your body type. The jeans pictured are a staple in this Fashionista’s wardrobe—a pair of dark wash skinny jeans cuffed at the ankle.

Now, you don’t want to step into spring on the wrong foot, and you can’t go wrong with a lace-up gladiator sandal like the one this Fashionista is wearing. This brings us to the third part of the equation: a fabulously practical sandal. Sandals are the true sign spring is here, but the last thing you want is a sandal that will be giving you blisters 15 minutes into enjoying a spring day. Gladiator sandals are a fun option that will let you customize the fit of the sandal with the use of laces, and there are no annoying bits between your toes to rub against them.

Another place to really add some personal flair to this look is the fourth part of the equation: accessories. This is where the light aspect of springy outfits comes into play. When choosing your jewelry, it’s better to layer multiple delicate pieces than to have one chunky one weighing you down. By layering jewelry, your outfit will stay fresh and fun and the more bracelets/rings/necklaces, the more chances you have to express your newfound love of spring.

Now bust out that groundbreaking floral top, slip on your favorite jeans, lace up your sandals, add a few sparkly accessories, get out there, and enjoy the beautiful spring weather confidently in style!
