STYLE ADVICE: Spring Forward

Spring is almost here and boy is it time to switch up. I have been inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger S/S 17 collection. It brings forth denim prints and flower child blouses mixed with a nostalgic “Made in America” type aesthetic. What I find groundbreaking is that it takes bold articles of clothing such as tattered jeans and adds a childish twist by putting on sticker graphics. This spring, it is time to take a leap into adventure!

Our Fashionista is wearing an outfit that screams professional but beckons you to come and play. Striped blue and white blouses seem to never go out of style and are the definite contender to wear to that internship interview you have been hoping to get. College is about moving forward and maturing into taking larger responsibilities. What you wear reflects on how you are perceived, so make it your goal this spring to dress like you are ready to take on some new opportunities.

But who says girls can’t have fun? This Fashionista decided to sport a pair of authentic white Converse perfect for that morning walk to class on campus. They are ideal for spring weather because you won’t feel too hot or cold for those of you who love going out on nature hikes with friends. Did I mention high-waisted jeans yet? This trend is at an all-time high this year. What I like about these jeans is that they accentuate your figure and legs. They also are available in many different styles (ripped, cut off, embroidered) and can be found in retail stores anywhere. Not into the retail deal anymore? Try thrift shops. This Fashionista’s outfit was found at a local thrift shop. Thrifting is very big in cities such as New York City and is also found in many small towns as well. You can find any types of clothing that are affordable for college girls.

Make your spring wardrobe affordable, professional, carefree, or whatever you want it to be and embrace yourself.
