STYLE ADVICE: Revamping Your Spring Style

When I saw this Fashionista, her outfit inspired me and showed me how to make spring styles stand out from the norm. Her use of layering helped her stay warm because it isn’t quite the weather of tank tops and shorts in Ithaca yet, but her tube top and open-toed booties scream the fact that it’s not winter anymore.

Not only does this Fashionista nail the perfect combo of warm and springy, but she also adds a personal and unique touch with her gaucho pants. Gauchos are not something that everyone owns, and not everyone can pull them off. However, the main reason some people can pull gauchos off while others can’t is confidence. If you like this look, go for it! Don’t be afraid to stray from the typical skinny jeans or leggings. Dare to be different.

This Fashionista also adds her own twist with her jewelry. The style and colors of her layered necklaces go well with the gauchos and jacket. Since her tube top is just a basic black, these necklaces spice up the top half of her outfit and really bring it together. More importantly, her ear cuff sets her apart and is a unique staple piece that I think could compliment almost any outfit.

Again, my biggest take away from seeing this Fashionista was her confidence. Having interesting and beautiful clothing can of course enhance our looks, but our most important asset is feeling good in what we wear. When you’re picking what to buy for spring or what combination to wear around campus, make sure that you think you’re rocking it, because then everyone else will too!
