STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: You Give Me (Spring) Fever

While warmer temperatures are stretching from coast to coast, we’re still suffering a bit of a cold front here in D.C.! Fashionistas, it’s your last chance to break out the hats, gloves, coats and boots before we spring forward into sunny days and short sleeves! While I can’t wait for some warmer weather and a spring break in the sun, I love taking these last chances to wear some cold weather staples before stashing them until next fall. This Fashionista, in particular, caught my eye with her bright pink hat and army green pants that screamed cold weather cool, while also welcoming spring with the color scheme.

Pink is IN, for all of those wondering. My friends and I, who usually walk around in head-to-toe black, have enjoyed this new trend, getting pink manicures and accessories to spice up our staple pieces. This Fashionista’s pink hat immediately drew my attention. While it’s fuzzy and warm, the color also absolutely stands out against her blonde hair. This Fashionista doesn’t overdo the major pop of color and keeps things simple in the rest of her look with a subdued marbled sweater and army green pants. The pink and army green complement each other beautifully, with a masculine/feminine mix of light and dark. The darker boots nicely contrast the green pants without making too much of a statement, letting the hat be the centerpiece of the entire look.

Not only does this Fashionista rock some pink accessories, she also adds on a light, barely-there pink lip to complement her color palette. The beauty staple, seen on all of the spring 2016 runways, is a classic leap forward into warm weather style. While she may be dressing the cold, this Fashionista has sun and tans on the mind with her beauty choices!

Whether you’re in cold weather or warm, take some advice from this Fashionista and embrace the hottest color trend in your accessories! Let the pink pop!

What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Choose one accessory and style your look around that so it truly stands out. Whether you have a pink hat, want to wear a bright purple lip or have a wild pair of heels you’ve been dying to wear, make a simple look around that and let the accessory do the talking!”
